Catherine Brown Angell

Mrs. Catherine Brown Angell, 87, of Country Lane, Mocksville, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. 

She was born May 4, 1927, in Watauga County to the late John Crisp and Ola Taylor Brown. Mrs. Angell was retired from Belk Department Stores and was a charter member of Blaise Baptist Church. She and her husband were fishermen and enjoyed traveling in their RV and fishing at the Outer Banks.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cashwell Jones Angell Jr.; and 2 sisters, Martha Alice Brown and Louise Brown Nichols.

Survivors: a son, George G. Angell (Daune) of Indian Valley, Va.; 2 daughters, Pat A. Hege of Salisbury and Jerrie A. Cozart (Lester) of Mocksville; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service was to be conducted at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 22 at Blaise Baptist Church with the Dr. Jerry Cloninger and the Rev. Bill Phillips officiating. Burial was to follow in Joppa Cemetery. The family was to receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
