Annual United Way Campaign Well Behind $400,000 Goal

Davie County United Way (DCUW) is in the final weeks of the 2013 campaign with a long way to go.

“At this time we have reached only 40 percent of our local goal of $400,000,” said Don Lamonds, the 2013 campaign cabinet chair. “This is way off the mark and we must hope that the companies with outstanding employee giving campaigns, and donors who have yet to make their gift, will step up with greater generosity than ever”.

“A strong United Way makes a very important impact on a community,” he said. “If the United Way is strong, the nonprofit community it supports will be healthy and able to serve. In a community with strong nonprofit agencies, the county tends to be stronger and more attractive to businesses and people looking for a good place to put down roots. It makes sense to give to United Way.

“If you have not made your 2013 United Way donation, please make that commitment now. Be a part of the change for a better, stronger Davie County,.” Lamonds said.
