Mother Arrested After Leaving Baby In Car

A Mocksville woman was arrested Saturday in the Wal-Mart parking lot after leaving her baby in the car while she went shopping.
Samantha Kehaulani Cline, 24, of Milling Road, was charged with felony child abuse by the Mocksville Police Department. She was taken into custody in lieu of a $25,000 bond, pending an Oct. 24 appearance in Davie District Court.
Passers-by heard the baby screaming inside the car and alerted police about 4:30 p.m. Officers entered the car, called EMS and the 20-month-old baby was transported to Davie County Hospital. It took about an hour for the baby’s vital signs to return to normal, according to police reports.
Unable to locate Cline inside the store, officers said she seemed surprised when she returned to her car, telling them she had forgotten about her baby …
