When the air conditioner quit working on a business at Squire Boone Shopping Center on Yadkinville Road, workers called for professionals to take a look at the unit on top of the building.
It wasn’t long before those workers came back down the ladder.
There was a garden on top of the building. And the two quart pots held – pot. A total of 26 marijuana plants and 27 pots were on top of the building, soaking up the sunshine.
Mocksville Police officers are investigating, but no arrests have been made. They have, however, checked the tops of other large buildings in town. And they will continue to do so, said Lt. Nelson Turrentine.
The plants ranged in size from seedlings to about a foot tall, he said. If allowed to mature, even at bulk prices on the black market, the plants would have been worth tens of thousands of dollars …
