County Wants New I-40 Interchange

County commissioners have OKd up to $40,000 to help pay for a feasibility study for a new interchange on I-40 in eastern Davie.
County commissioners saw that need in 2007, and requested the study then. At the time, the Winston-Salem Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization recommended a new interchange at Redland Road, and the Transportation Advisory Council approved 80 percent of funding for a Department of Transportation planning study.
The resolution adopted earlier this month by commissioners approves 20 percent of the cost of that study.
