BR Gets Peek At Proposed Hospital In Eastern Davie

It wasn’t that long ago when ground was broken for Wake Forest Baptist Health —  West Campus in Davie County, but the Bermuda Run Town Council got a sneak peek at the look of the finished product in its August meeting.
And they like what they saw and heard from Heather Hayes, project administrator for Davie markets, who provided commentary during a slide show of a rendering of the facility.
“We’re still on track for both buildings to be open no later than next fall,” Hayes said of the medical office building and the outpatient center. “So we’re only a little more than a year away right now, which is very exciting.”
Those are the two main components of phase one of the project, which will ultimately culminate with a 50-bed hospital by 2017.
Clearing and grading on the 88-acre site on N.C. 801 near I-40 started in June, and Hayes said that workers are getting ready to start pouring foundations.
“It’s remarkable to me what the aerial shot looks like six weeks ago,” she said.
Slides that she displayed included a closer look at the four-story, 60,000 square-foot building that will house physicians offices and a 100,000 square-foot outpatient center.
