Plenty Of Pride: Cooleemee Residents Ask County For Support

COOLEEMEE – County commissioners are traveling across the county to hear what’s on the minds of residents, to get their ideas.
At their first stop here last week they ran into room full of residents in the town hall – most of them local – and proud.
Speaker after speaker said that it’s time the board recognizes Cooleemee for the asset it is – a tourist destination, a good place to raise a family, and with a forward-thinking populace that wants to make it better, while honoring the past.
“We want to promote Cooleemee by attracting new home buyers,” said Jean Snead, a town board member who is working with the Cooleemee Futures Task Force. They’re working on marketing and research, and will sponsor an event for real estate professionals this spring.
Joey Shore grew up in Cooleemee, traveled the country while working and brought his own family to settle here last year.
