Schools OK Help In Search For New Leader

The Davie Board of Education voted unanimously last week to hire the North Carolina School Board Association (NCSBA) to search for superintendent candidates to replace Dr. Robert Landry, who resigned/retired last month.
Allison Brown Schafer, legal counsel/director of policy for the NCSBA, will lead the search team.
The board advertised in late November for a firm to conduct the search, and only two submitted proposals, or Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), the NCSBA and a firm from Nebraska. The cost for the search begins at $9,500 but could go as high as $15,000.
In their proposal, Schafer said, “NCSBA has now provided superintendent search administrative services to over 60 NC school boards in the last 12 years that I have been at the Association.”
