Letty Mae Wagner Roberts, 89, of Mocksville, NC, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home in Davie County.
She was born March 11, 1935, in Davie County to the late Dennie Paul and Camilla Hazel Howard Wagner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of almost 65 years, James Lloyd “Jim” Roberts; an infant child; her brother, Dennie Wagner; and 2 of her sisters, Colene McCoy and Lorene Presnell.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She married on June 8, 1956, in Davie County. She worked in Charlotte as a Legal Secretary for more than 20 years, retiring in 2002. She loved to sew, crochet, cross stitch, and to work puzzles of all kinds, including crossword and jigsaw puzzles. In Charlotte, she was an active member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church teaching second grade Sunday School, working in the Nursery, and singing in the choir. In Mocksville, she was an active member of Turrentine Baptist Church.
Survivors include: 3 sons, Steven Roberts (Sue) of Mocksville, Carl Roberts of Mocksville, and William Roberts (Janene) of Boomer; 2 granddaughters, Natalie Roberts and Nicole Roberts, both of Boomer; 2 sisters, Mildred James, and Pat Stine; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 16 from 1-20 p.m. at Turrentine Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Fred Carlton; interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends and family are invited to come and visit at the church to celebrate the life of Letty Roberts. To provide those unable to attend, there will be a live webcast of her service on the Lambert Funeral Home website.
