Driver faces charges after swerving vehicle in front of deputy

He had been convicted of DWI before.
He was driving around drinking a beer.
And when the vehicle he was driving swerved in front of an oncoming Davie County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle, he was arrested after a chase that ended near his home.
Marco Antonio Jaimes, 40, of Martin Luther King Jr. Road, Mocksville, was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest with a vehicle, DWI, failure to heed blue lights and siren, driving while license revoked on an impaired driving revocation failure to stop for a stop sign, possession of open container of alcohol in passenger are of vehicle, consuming alcohol whil driving, reckless driving, speeding and driving left of center. He was taken into custody in lieu of a $7,500 bond, pending a March 20 first appearance in Davie District Court.
Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Brian Jacobs reported that about 3:06 a.m. on March 10, a deputy was traveling on US 158 when a black pickup truck crossed the center line and almost hit the deputy’s vehicle head on.
“The deputy turned around and activated his blue lights and siren, but the driver of the pickup failed to stop,” Jacobs reported.
The suspect increased speed, going 85 mph in a 45 mph zone, and didn’t stop at the sign at North Main Street and Milling Road. It pulled into a driveway on Martin Luther King Jr. Road, Jacobs reported.
