The Davie JV soccer season concluded with a 6-0 home loss to North Davidson on May 9.

Liliana Romero, who had spent several weeks on varsity, and Ellen Little, who had been out for two weeks with an injury, were back on the field together. Both were team captains.

“Having their leadership back on the field provided me with many more options,” coach William Boswell said.

Even though the War Eagles finished with a 1-12 record, they never quit.

“I’m proud of the girls for giving a good effort game after game,” Boswell said. “It’s natural to lose confidence when the scoreboard is often not in your favor. We struggled to create scoring opportunities against tougher opponents, but returned in rematches producing better possession and increased opportunities. I believe the girls recognize they have grown as players this season and will return next season intent on demonstrating more improvements.”
