Wilkesboro Street in Mocksville will be closed to through traffic beginning May 1 and for most of the summer.

The N.C. Department of Transportation will construct a roundabout where Wilkesboro Street, Yadkinville Road, Meroney Street and Mumford Drive intersect.

Signs will be posted for detours. The project was first approved in 2018.

Country Boy Landscaping, will install water and sewer lines, storm drainage, curb and gutter and paving. The project is expected to be complete by late August.

Traffic will be detoured to Salisbury Street and Valley Road.

Local traffic will be able to access locations on either side of the project site up to the points of closure.
