The Davie indoor track team competed in the King of the Jungle on Jan. 9.

Austin Sweet, Cooper Williams and Ethan Lakey provided the highlights. Sweet, who is the No. 1 freshman in the state in the pole vault, qualified for the state meet. Williams, the No. 1 sophomore in the state in the shot put, also qualified for the state. Lakey, the state’s No. 8 freshman in the 1600, had a huge personal record in that event and barely missed qualifying for the state, falling .21 seconds short.
