This is regarding the event on Thursday evening, “Cookies With Santa,” at the Davie Family YMCA. Smart Start of Davie gave each child a book and another corporation sponsored gifts, cookies and hot chocolate.

When I arrived with my neighbor’s great-grandchild, the families were lined up at the door. The line moved promptly and was well organized.

When Deziray’s turn came to visit Santa, she ran and leaped into his arms. This was an awesome event for the children of Davie County.

I want to say thank you to the sponsors for a nice affair. To see the joy on their faces was amazing.
