Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth (Lib) Forrest Massey, 94, of Greenhill Road, Mocksville, died Friday, July 1, 2022, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Jan. 28, 1928 in Davidson County to the late George Franklin and Sarah Elizabeth Barnes Forrest.

Mrs. Massey retired from Hanes Hosiery and AT&T. She was a longtime member of the Spencer Moose Lodge, a member of the YMCA, active in the Center community in years past, and was the oldest member of No Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 30 years, Harry Cope Massey; her brothers, James, Pete, and Abe Forrest; and a sister, Ann Evans.

Survivors include: her children, Steve Vestal (Sandra), Debbie Spillman (Kenny), and Tanya Johnson, all of Mocksville, and Sue Massey Carter of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Arrington (Todd), Emily Snider (Bryan), Jessi Andrade, Joshua Wesley (Pimsani), Michael Forrest (Margaret), and KayRon Lantz; 9 great-grandchildren, Jordan O’Neill (Maria), Matthew Snider, Luke Snider, Kamron Lantz, Gavin Arrington, Sarah Andrade, Bryson Lantz, Talan Andrade, and Phillip Forrest; 2 great-great-grand-daughters, Ali and Braelynn; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Elder Eddie Fowler officiating. Interment followed in No Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
