Mrs. Josephine Thomas Anderson, 88, of Mocksville, has gone to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.
She was born Sept. 6, 1933 in Iredell County to the late Robert S. and Thelma Norman Thomas. Mrs. Anderson was of the Methodist faith and was a certified lay speaker. She was a graduate of Harmony High School, Class of 1950. Mrs. Anderson had been employed at the J.C. Penney Distribution Center, Hunter Manufacturing and as a school crossing guard in Statesville. She loved her Bible and taught many Bible classes. Mrs. Anderson also loved to travel. She wanted to see the world God had made. Mrs. Anderson had visited about 40 countries, above and below the Equator and across the International Date Line. She had also visited ALL 50 states. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Colonial Dames, tracing her ancestry back to the original Colonies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Herman Lloyd Anderson; and a beloved aunt, Janie Thomas.
Survivors: her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathleen Anderson; sons, Robert Lee Anderson and James Michael Anderson; her sister, Addie T. Bradsher; a niece; many nephews; and several grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 15 at Zion Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Patricia Greene officiating. The service is available to view on the Lambert Funeral Home website
