BERMUDA RUN – Do you enjoy the Christmas tree on top of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center?
Then consider making a donation in memory of or in honor of someone to keep the lights shining and to help abused and neglected children.
All funds will go to The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center and the medical center’s employee assistance fund.

The tree was lit during a ceremony at the medical center.
Bermuda Run Mayor Rick Cross said he immediately started getting comments when the tree was placed on top of the medical center. When is the tree lighting ceremony?
“It’s starting to mean something to our community, across Davie County and this whole area, and those driving on I-40,” Cross said. “The partnership with Davie Medical Center and the Town of Bermuda Run is one that I’m incredibly proud of.”
“All across Davie County, the communities have been great to us,” said Chad Brown, Davie Medical Center president. “We’re here to support our employees to ensure that we’re here long term.”
Brandi Reagan, Dragonfly House executive director, said the number of abused and neglected children has increased during the pandemic as adults struggle with more issues.
“We’ve seen a lot of suffering in a lot of children … more than most people understand,” Reagan said. “There are a lot of things we do to help them, provide any resource they might need. There are children who have experienced forms of sexual and physical abuse.”
The ceremony also featured a prayer by hospital chaplain, Adam Ridenhour, and a visit from Santa, who reported that Mayor Cross had gone from the naughty list last year to the nice list this year.
