Trojans cruise to youth football final

The varsity Pinebrook Trojans dominated their first two playoff opponents. In the first round on Oct. 16, they took down Cornatzer 34-8.
Brandon Forrest threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Brody Willard, and Forrest ran for two scores (50- and 47-yard runs). The other Pinebrook TDs were scored by Jason Riddle on a 3-yard run and Reynolds Tomlinson on a 30-yard run.
The leading tacklers for the Trojans were Henry Hines (seven tackles), Forrest (five) and Adam Thomas (three).
Coach Tim Dunn gave blocking credit to Nathan Smith, Glen Green, Parker Johnson, Willard and Carter Cornette.

In the semifinals on Oct. 23, the Trojans overmatched Shady Grove, 30-6.
Forrest was involved in all the TDs, running for 69, 1 and 73 yards to the end zone and tossing a 35-yard scoring pass to Cornette. Forrest finished with 170 rushing yards on nine carries.
The defensive leaders were Camden Gioeli (five tackles, fumble recovery), Hines (five tackles), Easton Baune (five tackles), Cornette (four tackles, 55-yard fumble return to set up a TD) and Forrest (four tackles).
The top blockers were Willard and Smith.
