Mr. Clarence Lee Spillman, 85, of Junction Road, Mocksville, died on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021.
He was born on Aug. 2, 1936 in Davie County to the late Alphonso Grant Spillman Sr. and the late Sallie Brown Spillman.
Mr. Spillman was a member of Cooleemee Church of God and enjoyed his job working with his family at Spillman’s Auto for 54 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years active duty, and 30 years with the reserves. Mr. Spillman enjoyed working with his cows, checking his pasture, and loved his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a devout Christian who loved life.
He was also preceded in death by: his brothers, Delano Spillman, Terrell Spillman, Doc Spillman, Alphonso Grant Spillman Jr., and Joe Spillman; 2 step-children, Ronnie Morgan and Sondra Morgan; and a great-grandchild, Leeandre.
Survivors: his wife of 28 years, Nadine Tallent Spillman of the home; his children, Kimberly Spillman Kyles (Dennis), David Wayne Spillman, all of Mocksville, and Edward Paul Spillman (Angelena Noto Spillman) of Salisbury; his brothers, Monroe Keith Spillman (Cheryl) and Roger Phillip Spillman (Deborah A.); 13 grandchildren, Lauren O’Rourke (Michael), Sarah Euart (Christopher), Anna Heafner, Angelena V. Spillman, Giovanni V. Spillman, Victor F. Spillman, Michael V.N. Spillman, Santino A.N. Spillman, Giovanni M. Parker, Hailey Chung, Billy Gray Morgan (Veronica), Cassondra Morgan, and Richard Morgan; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28 at Cooleemee Church of God with the Rev. Bruce Harry officiating. The body will lie in state in the church for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Legion Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Eaton Funeral Home.
