With first place on the line at Reagan on Sept. 7, Davie’s varsity volleyball team lost in three sets to the Central Piedmont Conference superpower.

The Raiders, who improved to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the league, have captured 12 of the last 14 regular-season championships. This marked their 21st straight regular-season victory, the last such loss coming from Davie on Oct. 17, 2019.

Although it only went three sets, Davie was very much in the match. The first two sets were 26-24, 25-22. Davie fell apart in the last one, 25-11.

Two days later, the visiting War Eagles crushed winless Mt. Tabor (25-8, 25-8, 25-8). While Davie improved to 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the CPC, the Spartans fell to 0-6, 0-3. They have dropped all 18 sets.

Davie’s five-match winning streak against Tabor began in 2017. Before that, Davie lost 14 straight and 27 of 28 to the Spartans.

The JV War Eagles lost 2-1 to Reagan and won 25-14, 25-8 over Tabor. Davie’s record is 5-2, 3-1.
