I’m came home from the hospital the afternoon of Sept. 2, but was discharged with continued oxygen. Please everyone be careful. Covid is not something to take lightly. I thought I had done everything correctly, had my vaccine, continued to wear my mask when in a crowd, kept everything at work and home sanitized, but it wasn’t enough. Hopefully I’ll be back to my “horrible” self real soon.

Lots of birthdays have been missed:  Pamela Branham on Sept. 1; Craig Myers, Kat Routh and Lester Edwards on Sept. 2; Josephine Anderson on Sept. 6; Bill Reeves and Harper Dyson on Sept. 7; Jennifer Moody on Sept. 11; Janice Jordan and Heather Dyson on Sept. 12; Justin Price on Sept. 13; and Stephanie Blackwelder on Sept. 14. I do want to wish those with anniversaries much happiness:  Rodger and Melba Feimster on Sept. 4; Wade and Linda Leonard on Sept. 6; Rowan and Judy Fay on Sept. 8; David and Tammy Beck on Sept. 9; Calvin and Mary Bell Prevette and Jack and Mildred Keller on Sept. 10; and Stephen and Tracy Barnes on Sept. 13.

Sheffield-Calahaln VFD meetings are each Monday night at the station at 7. If interested in becoming a firefighter or want to know more about the department, Chief Gary Allen and other members welcome you any Monday night.

There will be a Memorial Service at the fire department on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. We look forward to sharing this special day with the community and the families of firefighters remembered on this day and always.

A couple photos was sent to me by Phoebe Smith. It has some family members that will be of much interest to those who take the weekly paper. I’m sure I was not able to get all names listed, but if you know of others or any corrections, please do not hesitate to contact me or Phoebe with information.

New Union UMC will have another Hotdog Saturday on Sept. 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the church parking lot.

New Union UMC’s contemporary worship service is held each Sunday morning is at 9, Sunday School at 10:15 and traditional worship at 11. You can view services on the New Union UMC Facebook page.

Sunday School at Liberty Wesleyan is each Sunday at 10 a.m. followed by the Worship service at 11. Liberty will have a yard and hotdog sale Sept. 10 from 3-6 p.m. and on Sept. 11 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. All proceeds go to the children’s playground and children’s ministries. On Sept. 17, there will be a Liberty Kidz Service at 6:30 p.m. Bring children and join.

Sunday School is each Sunday at Ijames Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. and the worship service at 10:30. All services and important weekly information will continue to be seen on the Ijames Church Friends Facebook page.
