Memorial Stair Climb, Davie County Community Park, US 601 S., Mocksville, 7-9 a.m. Match the 110-floor climb on the steps or on the track around the stadium. Free. Individuals and groups welcome.

Advance Fire Department, 1869 NC 801 S., 8:40-10:30 a.m. Ringing of a bell marking key moments on 9/11, displays of pictures and books, and  opportunities to share remembrances. Key moments for bell ringing: 8:46 – American Airlines Flight 11 hits the North Tower; 9:03 – United Airline Flight 175 hits the South Tower;  9:37 – American Airlines Flight 77 hits the Pentagon;  9:59 – the South Tower collapses;  10:03 – United Airlines Flight 93 crashes in a field in Shannksville, Pa.; 10:28 – the North Tower collapses. A final bell ringing will be at 10:30 to honor all the victims and heroes who died that day and the many that have died since due to their exposure at these events. If anyone has 9/11 related items that they would be willing to share and display, bring them to the station that morning at 8.
