Bishop to speak at Episcopal Church of Ascension on Sunday

Sunday, Aug. 8, the Rt. Rev. Anne Hodges-Copple will visit The Episcopal  Church of the Ascension at Fork to preach and celebrate Holy Communion at 11 a.m.

After the service there will be a covered dish luncheon. Everyone is asked to bring a dish. Masking is encouraged, but optional.

Hodges-Copple is the first female Bishop in the Diocese of NC. She was consecrated on June 15, 2013 in Duke Chapel on the campus of Duke University.

She grew up in Dallas, Texas, and attended Duke University. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, Calif. in 1984.

Hodges-Copple has served her ordained life in the Diocese of NC working 13 years in Parish Ministry and well as 13 years as a campus minister.
