Senior Games has a second component for all of the people who enjoy artistic activities like painting, sewing, woodworking, or even story telling?

This portion of Senior Games is called SilverArts.

The Davie County SilverArts Showcase was held as a drop off event on May 25.

Participants dropped off their entries and the fun began. A variety of entries including machine stitched quilts, digital photography, woodturning and woodworking were entered.

The SilverArts showcase also includes the Literary Arts which features categories such as Life Experiences, Poems, Essays, and Short Stories.

The third component is Performing Arts. Although there were no participants this year in the Performing Arts category, Senior Services is looking forward to an array of performers next year. The performing piece can include dancing, singing, or theater. Next year, Senior Services would love to see all the talents of Davie residents 50 and older.

Any questions about how to join in SilverArts? Call Senior Services at 336-753-6230.
