Betty “Joann” (Combs) Burton, 65, of Mocksville, died on Monday, May 31, 2021 from Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Forsyth County.

   She was born Oct. 3, 1955 in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late Hoyle Wesley Combs and the late Lathel (Miller) Combs. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Lee Burton and her brother, Hoyle Michael Combs.

She attended Davie High School and worked in the retail business. She attended Woodleaf Baptist Church, was caring and loved to help people, and she loved gardening.

Survivors: sons, Gary Livengood (Jaime) of Mocksville, Joseph Livengood (Yahayra) of Peru; sisters, Janice McAbee of Mocksville, Jill Robertson (Richie); and grandchildren, Alea Livengood and Ethan Livengood.

   A visitation for Joann was held Saturday, June 5, from 10-11 a.m. at Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville. A funeral service will follow at 11 in the Davie Funeral Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Chris Williams.  She will be buried in the Legion Memorial Park in Cooleemee.
