Mrs. Shirley Ann Weaver James, 80, of Mocksville,  died Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

She was born Dec. 9, 1940 in Rowan County to the late Marvin Clement and Helen Elizabeth Barger Weaver.  Mrs. James was a member of Turrentine Baptist Church.  She had worked at Norman’s of Salisbury.

She was also preceded in death by: a stepdaughter, Joy Cozart; and a stepson, Ronnie James.

Survivors: her husband, Carol Dean James of the home; children, LuAnn Manter (Keith) of Lexington, Michele Davis (John) of Charlotte, and Todd Bowers (Tammy) of Salisbury; stepdaughter, Lynn Harris (Fred) of Mocksville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrand-children and stepgreat-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Weaver (Sue) of Mt. Ulla and Gene Weaver of Spencer; and a close friend, Barbara Carter.

A funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 28 at Turrentine Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Carlton officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Friends came by Lambert Funeral Home, Mocksville, Saturday, March 27 to pay respects.
