Davie’s public COVID-19 vaccination clinic is on for this Friday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Davie Community Park off US 601 South in Mocksville.
The clinic was canceled last Friday because of a delay in shipment of vaccines due to weather. Those doses and this week’s allocation should be available at Friday’s clinic, open to all adults age 65 and older, as well as frontline healthcare workers. School staff, and childcare workers are also eligible.
County Manager David Bone reported in his weekly email update that the next priority group – frontline essential workers – will be eligible for the vaccine beginning March 10.
Residents are asked to avoid the area around the park on Friday morning, as traffic delays are common. The parking lot at the park can hold some 400 vehicles, and is usually filled by 7:30 a.m.
Walgreen’s in Mocksville and Advance are also receiving limited doses of vaccines to administer to the same priority groups. Those doses do not affect the county’s allocation. Those are administered by appointment only, call 336-751-2499 for the Mocksville location or 336-940-5515 for Advance.
