A Rowan County man has been charged with possessing items reported stolen in Davie County. Michael Andrew Callicutt, 39, of Salisbury, was charged with three counts of felony possession of stolen goods. He was taken into custody in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Davie Sheriff’s Lt. Scot Kimel said the investigation began on Jan. 1, when a report was received about the theft of a 2011 Case tractor, valued at $50,000, along with an eight-foot bushhog and chainsaw.

On Jan. 8, investigators learned the tractor may be near White Road in Mt. Ulla. With the help of Rowan Sheriff’s officers and a lengthy search of the area, the tractor was found near a residence on White Road.

Nearby, at Callicutt’s residence, investigators found the bushhog mower, as well as a trailer that had been reported stolen in Mocksville.

Kimel said the investigation is ongoing.
