Anna Jean Sparks ‘Ammie’ Gaddy

Mrs. Anna Jean Sparks Ammie” Gaddy, 79, ofAdvance, died on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020.

Mrs. Gaddy was born on March 17, 1941 in Davie County to the late Charles Luther and Lena Freedle Sparks. She continued to reside in Davie County, where she raised her two sons, Tommy and James Gaddy. She worked and retired from Baker Furniture in Mocksville where she was a respected lead person in the finishing room. She had a love for the restoration and refinishing of old furniture. She had several other hobbies, which included the love of gardening and flowering that was passed down to her from her mother and father. She continued to garden the same land that they had her entire life. She was an active member of her church’s Sew Sisters of Fulton United Methodist Church. She hand stitched many prayer quilts for others throughout the community over the years.

She was also preceded in death by her husband L.G. Gaddy in 1993, and a sister, Madge Lee Spry.

Survivors: 2 sons, Tommy Gaddy (Julie) of Mocksville, James Gaddy (Edwina) of Advance; 5 grandchildren, Tiffany Yokley (Eric), Charlie Gaddy, Kirsten Gaddy, Tyler Gaddy, and Addison Gaddy; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27 at Fulton United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Dustin James officiating.
