Mr. Stephen Mack Walker, 68, of Mocksville, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born April 18, 1952 in Iredell County to the late Edd Sanford and Ruth Earle Peoples Walker. He was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church. He was owner/operator of Walker Trucking & Grading. He was a member of Farmington Lodge #265 AF&AM. He had a wonderful sense of humor; he could tell a joke better than anyone else.  When you left his company, you left smiling. He loved spreading humor, listening to music, and going to Miller’s to eat and “shoot the bull.”

Survivors: his wife, Melanie Carter Walker; his siblings, Edwin Walker (Sue) and Melissa Souther (Keith); nieces and nephews, Misty (Steve), Amanda (Mitchell), Tiffany (Nolan) and Avery (Kayla); and special friends, Scotty Angell, Richard James and Monty Smith.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13 at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chip Webb officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow.

The family invites friends to come by Lambert Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11, or Thursday, Nov. 12, to sign the register book.
