Mr. Heber Wentz, 74, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at his home.

He was born April 20, 1946 in Mecklenburg County to the late James Paul and Martha Elizabeth Greene Wentz.  At age 12, he had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He had retired from Duke Energy and had worked for Lowe’s Home Improvement in Mocksville. Mr. Wentz was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Charlotte. He was a people person, and was a great husband, father and grandfather.

He was also preceded in death by 4 siblings.

Survivors: his wife, Libby Wentz; 2 sisters, Marie Boyles and Pat Morris (Tom); a son, Joe Wentz (Cheryl); and a grandson, Nathan Hughes.
