Alvin Raeford Seamon, 85, of Advance, died on May 5, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Davie County on Dec. 16, 1934, the son of the late John Alvin Seamon and Ethel Louise Seamon. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Minor Seamon.

He worked in the furniture industry as a saw operator for Baker Furniture.  He was also in the U.S. Army, was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed seeing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors: a son, Donald Seamon (Cynthia) of Advance; sisters, Margaret Lewis of Cooleemee, Ella Mae Poindexter and Novella Minor, both of Advance, Betty Snow of Harmony, Ruth Ward of Lexington, and Sally Whitaker, Peggy Seamon and Lorraine Seamon, all of Mocksville; grandchildren, Kirsten Seamon, Hanna Seamon, Joshua Seamon; and great-grandchildren, Noah and Rocko.

A visitation will be held Friday May 8 from noon-1 p.m. at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville.  A graveside service will follow at 1:15 p.m. at St. Matthews Cemetery, officiated by Pastor James Ward.
