Mr. Robert “Bob” Joel Willis, 71, of Dogwood Lane, Mocksville, died on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Orange County, Fla. on July 11, 1948, to the late Haire and Mary Josephine Shields Willis.

He served three years in the U.S. Air Force and fought in Vietnam. He was a member of the Mocksville Disabled American Veterans and contributed to the Wounded Warrior Project.  As a Christian, he never met a stranger and was a rock to many people.

Mr. Willis had eight children, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one brother.

A private memorial service will be conducted by the family at a later date.
