A months-long investigation into the sale of narcotics in the county led to the arrests of several area residents last week.

According to Major Koula Black with the Mocksville Police Department, the investigation focused on the sales of heroin and methamphetamine, and was assisted by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the Salisbury and Cooleemee police departments.

“I am satisfied with the work being produced by the investigations at this agency,” said Mocksville Police Chief Pat Reagan. “It is because of the relationships the detectives have made with other agencies over the past several years that Mocksville Police Department is able to get out there and answer drug complaints from within the community.”
