Mrs. Lelia Mae Caudle Smith of Mocksville died on Friday morning, Dec. 20, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

She was born in Davie County on April 20, 1930 to the late Robert Caudle and Reba Allen Caudle. She was a NASCAR fan and used to race cars at Bowman Gray Stadium  against legends such as Richard Petty and Junior Johnson.

She was preceded in death by: husband, William “Ralph” Smith; and sister, Evelyn Langford. L

Survivors: daughters, Lori Myers and husband Tommy, Lisa Smith (Charles), Vonda Anders, Sharon Norris (Jim), and Brenda Gandee; grandsons, Ben Beamon, Westley Myers, and Joshua Myers and Bill and James Gandee; granddaughters, Heather Cashwell, Adrinne Cashwell, and Amy Carrigan; brother, John Caudle and wife Rose; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held later.
