David Russell Bean, 63, of Lexington died on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist  Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

A graveside service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Salisbury National Cemetery. Visitation was held at the home from 4-6 p.m. after the graveside service.

He was born Dec. 23, 1955 in Forsyth County to Doyle Deward Bean and Mildred Rice Bean. He retired after 26 years as weld shop manager for Proctor & Schwartz. He served in the U.S. Army and attended Church of Christ Faith. Some of his hobbies included guns and motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving: his life partner of 22 years, Nikki Williams of the home; his mother, Mildred Bean of Advance; his son, Michael Jason Bean of Winston-Salem; sister, Cindy Candenquist (Arthur), of Amissville, Va.; special granddaughter, Kenzie Bean; other grandchildren, Addison Crookenden, Kane Williams, Ben Williams, Hadley Crookenden, Trinity Williams; and special furry cats, Riley, Myles, Winston and Grayland.
