Jerry Lee Pearcy Sr., 79, of Mocksville, formerly of  Bluefield, W.Va., died.

He was born April 14, 1940 in Bluefield to the late Oscar Lee and Bessie Pearcy. He was a lifelong resident of Bluefield, and was a member of Duhring Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Graham High School in Bluefield, Va. After high school he joined the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country for two years. He then worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a gun collector and loved to hunt and fish, talking, storytelling and he never met a stranger.

He was also preceded in death by: a sister, Shirley Ann Pearcy; 3 brothers, Johnny Dean Pearcy, Ronald Kenneth Pearcy, and Albert Cecil Pearcy; and a son, Michael Pearcy

Survivors: his daughter, Lena Reinsvold and husband Roger; sons, Jerry Lee Pearcy Jr. and wife Cathy, Jon Pearcy and wife Wendy and Samuel Pearcy; grandchildren, Amber Reinsvold, Matthew Hartley, Joshua Reinsvold, James Watkins, Daniel Pearcy, Jessica Pearcy, Jonah Pearcy, Jacob Pearcy, Destiny Pearcy, Madison Pearcy, and Erin Pearcy; 7 great-grandchildren; and ex-wife, Jula Jennings of Mocksville; 2 step-daughters, Penny Stevens of Athens, Ala. and Lisa Lacy of Bluewell, W.Va.; sister, Janet Bailey and husband Roger of Bluefield, W.Va.; brother, Donald Pearcy of Bluefield, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel of Mocksville, with Pastor James Bassett officiating. A visitation will be held at 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel.
