Mr. Johnny Escar Holleman Sr., 80, of Riverdale Road, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Asa Roosevelt and Lora Jane Finney Holleman. He retired from Lexington Furniture and will be remembered as a wonderful father and a caring man.

He was also preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Gibson Holleman; 2 sisters, Jeanette Allen and Geneva Dalton; a brother, Junior Holleman; and a grandson, Christopher Lee Hicks.

Survivors: children, Lora Holleman Keaton (Curtis Hicks) of Lexington, and Johnny Escar Holleman Jr. of Salisbury; a sister, Janet Smith of Cooleemee; 3 brothers, Ray Holleman (Nadene) of Mocksville, Bob Holleman and Garland Holleman, both of Cooleemee; Merlene Oddie (John) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Allen, Jesse, William, Taylor, Dawn, and Kenny; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Denver, with Dr. Darrell Cox officiating. The family will  friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Eaton Funeral Home.
