Step back in time at the 38th annual Southeastern Primitive Rendezvous starting this weekend at an emcampment on the Davie/Yadkin line. This marks the 10th year the rendezvous has been held at 297 Reavis Road, Yadkinville.

The camp features folks who dress, act and recreate the times from 1640-1840, called the Colonial or Mountain Man era.

Expect to hear the blast of a Muzzleloader, the aroma of stew cooking over a campfire and folks who look like they stepped out of a history book. This event is a reenactment of a rendezvous, where fur trappers, long hunters, American Indians and frontier families gather to experience the way people lived in the 17th and early 18th centuries. Sutlers will be selling supplies.

The rendezvous will be open to the public from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 19, 20 and 23. The sutler area will be open daily, and school day is Tuesday, Oct. 22. Admission is $5 for those age 13 and older. No pets are allowed. Visit www.southeasternprimitiverendezvous.com.
