Deep Roots supper, Mocksville First Methodist Family Life Center, 5:30 p.m. Homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, casseroles, salad, rolls, desserts. Donations to garden projects.

Friday, Sept. 27

Good Neighbor BBQ by Bethlehem Methodist, Advance. NC 801 beside Natures Way beginning at 10 a.m. for BBQ chicken and pork. Dine-in and pre-sold lunch orders at church, 321 Redland Rd., Advance, 10-1:30. $10 per plate (BBQ chicken or pork, slaw, baked beans, roll, dessert); $5 per sandwich; $15 lb. BBQ, 4 buns, pint slaw.

Saturday, Sept. 28

Poor man’s supper, Wesley Chapel Methodist, 6-8 p.m. Proceeds to Hurricane Dorian victims. Pintos, stewed potatoes, cooked cabbage, cornbread. Pino Rd., just off NC 801 N. 3 miles west of Farmington.
