Hattie Elizabeth (Click) Smoot, 75, of Mocksville, died on Sept. 20, 2019 in Davie County.

She was born Jan. 29, 1944 in Davie County, a daughter to the late Eddie Click and Naomi Tenor Reid. She graduated from Central Davie High School with the class of 1962.

She was also preceded in death by: a son, Billy Edward Smoot; her brother, Samuel E. Tenor; and her grandson Christopher E. Bailey.

Shee worked as a housekeeper for Sommerset Assisted Living. She was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church. She loved spending time with her family, doing puzzles, reading books, making jewelry and dancing.

Survivors, all of Mocksville: sons, Edward A. Smoot (Kim), Roger T. Smoot (India); daughters, Tawana Cain (Ernest), Tammi M. Smoot, Shawn D. Smoot (Reco) and Crystal D. Smoot (Steven); 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 1:15-2 p.m. at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville. A funeral service followed at 2 p.m., also at the Davie Chapel, with Pastor Rodney Barker officiating.
