Ms. Mona Jo Childers Wallace, 61, of McClamrock Road, Mocksville, died Friday, June 14, 2019, at her home.
She was born Feb. 19, 1958 in Davie County to the late Ben Brewer and Nancy Ann Hoffman Childers. She was a charter member of Hillsdale United Methodist Church in Advance where she served in the nursery and in the before/after school program and loved working with the kids. She had also been a Sunday school teacher and nursery worker at Concord United Methodist Church in Mocksville. She had been employed with BB&T in Mocksville for 28 years.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Beane.
Survivors: her son, Ben Wallace (Ryanne) of Mocksville; a granddaughter, Reagan Wallace; a special friend, Walter Bennett of Mocksville; a stepson, James Wallace (Rylan) of Chicago, Ill.; her canine companion, Russell; and a nephew, Bucky Keaton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22 at Hillsdale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Webb officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
