Virginia Dare Barnhardt Foster

Mrs. Virginia Dare Barnhardt Foster, 87, formerly of Barnhardt Lane, Advance, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

She was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Davie County to the late George E. and Dellie Ray Hendrix Barnhardt. Mrs. Foster was a member of No Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She graduated from Shady Grove High School as valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Foster was a devoted caretaker of her parents. She had worked five years in the Davie County School System.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, George Willard Foster; 2 sisters, Levy Barnhardt and Veigh Shoaf; and 7 brothers, Olin, Elward “Fat”, Charlie “Chick”, Herman “Hump”, Dermont, Bill and Eudell Barnhardt.

Survivors: several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2 at No Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Eddie Fowler officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family received friends at the graveside.
