Independence Day celebration, 5 p.m., Bethlehem Methodist, 321 Redland Rd., Advance. Bring covered dish and dessert or homemade ice cream. Free. Patriotic program.
Parade and July 4th celebration with free watermelon and ice cream, 10 a.m., Cooleemee. Meet at elementary school at 9:30 if entering parade. Entries should have patriotic theme.
Saturday, July 21
Police vs. Fire softball game, 6:30 p.m., Rich Park, Mocksville. $5. Fire safety house, police cars, fire trucks and more. Proceeds split between emergency personnel and Davie Band Boosters.
