Herman ‘Sheek’ Boger

Herman “Sheek” Boger died on Monday, March 5, 2018, surrounded by family.

He was born March 18, 1942, in Davie County to Herman Summers and Virginia (Sheek) Boger. He was a gifted carpenter and builder. He had a fondness for Dale Earnhardt, horses and barbecue. He spent most of his free time in his shop.

Survivors: 2 daughters, Shawn Boger of Yadkinville, and Sheree Hatfield and husband Rich, and their children, Aidan and McKenna, of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Matthew Boger and wife Wendy of Waynesville, and 2 grandsons, Taylor and Tanner; siblings, Shirley Moyer (Terry), Ted Boger (Darlene), and Martha Moorefield (Ken); numerous nieces and nephews; and Anthony Turner and family and Christopher Vaughn and family, including a strong bond he had with Bailey Vaughn as one of his grandchildren.

A service will be held at Eaton Baptist Church, Farmington, on Sunday, March 18. Visitation with family will be from 1-2:30 p.m. at the church. The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Gilbreath officiating.
