On Dec. 8, a festive fundraiser luncheon was held at Bermuda Run Country Club.

The annual event raised more than $9,800 to benefit A Storehouse for Jesus in Mocksville.

Dot Viola and Earline Ferguson co-chaired the event, hosted by the BRCC Ladies Nine Hole Golf group, and attended by an estimated 125 guests.

This annual event began in 2001 by a group of 9-hole golfers to raise funds to support the work of the Storehouse. Now, the group alternates with the 18-Hole ladies golfers and also the BRCC Ladies Tennis Association to host this luncheon.   

Since this luncheon began 16 years ago, the Bermuda Run Garden Club has had its own tradition of designing and putting the centerpieces together.  And today these centerpieces are given to women as door prizes.

J.R. Annecelli provided piano music as guests arrived and were welcomed by Marcia Cox. Diane Guthrie sang a beautiful moving solo, “Sweet Baby Jesus, Boy.” Judy Culler offered the Moravian blessing before lunch was served at the decorated tables.

Following lunch, Linda Ernst shared a special devotional and prayer followed by Marie Collins, the founder of Storehouse for Jesus, who spoke about the needs of their clients and how Storehouse helps.

In attendance were volunteers at Storehouse, Bermuda Run residents and friends, Advance Garden Club members, Bermuda Run Garden Club members, as well as women from 9 and 18 hole golf and tennis groups at Bermuda Run.
