Eleanor Woodruff Frye, 97, of Mocksville died at Bermuda Commons Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017.

A native of Davie County, she was born, June 14, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles Gaither Woodruff and Ella Mae McMahan Woodruff. She was the widow of James Vern Frye. Mrs. Frye graduated from Montreat College with a bachelor’s degree. She was a retired beautician and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Mocksville. Mrs. Frye was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and truly loved her church.

Survivors: a son, Sanford W. Frye (Linda Michael) of Mocksvile; 2 daughters, Kathy Frye Cornatzer (Emery) and Patricia Frye Foster (Mike Wallace) both of Advance; 5 grandchildren, Justin Foster, Natalie Britt (Patrick), Neil Cornatzer (Wendy), Scott Cornatzer (Emily) and William Sanford Frye (Suzi); and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters.

A celebration of life memorial service was held Friday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Mocksville.
