Mr. David Wayne Bailey, 61, died on Sunday morning, Oct. 29, 2017 after numerous infections and complications from four back surgeries this past year at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

He was born on Aug. 15, 1956 in Rowan County to the late John Wasley and Charabell Jones Bailey.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Charabell Jones Bailey; his father, John Wesley Bailey Sr.; his brothers, Jimmy Bailey, John Bailey, Charles Bailey and John Broadway.

Survivors: his wife of 31 years, Auburn Lakey Bailey; step-daughter, Amy Jo Mason; son, Tanner Jordan Bailey along with fiancee Brittany Nicole Watson; his best little buddy, Tazz; 4 sisters, Betty Charlene Helmsteller, Kathy Lorrene Owens (Mike), Mary Jane Cook (Tracy), and Paula Broadway Reavis (Todd); and a brother, Garry Linn Broadway (Lisa). He was loving, kind, helpful, compassionate, hardworking, gentle, kind-hearted, determined, and strong-willed, an awesome husband, father, brother, and papaw to his four-legged granddaughters Daisy and Bella.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 11 a.m.-noon at Hardison United Methodist Church in Mocksville. A memorial service will follow.
