Rebecca Jane Laxton, 59, of Yadkinville, died on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her residence.

A native of Rowan County, she was born Dec. 19, 1957, the daughter of the late Lester West and Eva Rebecca Broadway West, and she was the wife of Keith Laxton who she married on July 11, 2000. Mrs. Laxton graduated from Davie County High School with the class of 1976 and was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband she is survived by: 2 sons, Scott Swanson of Yadkinville and Wayne Swanson (Kendall) of High Point; a brother, Clay West (Chris) of Mocksville; and 3 grandchildren, Carlton Chase Swanson, Lesleigh Swanson and Josh Hoffman.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15 at Davie Funeral Service Chapel in Mocksville with the Rev. Jesse Miles conducting the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mocksville.
