The Davie County Chamber of Commerce held its annual 2017 Signature Women’s Luncheon at WinMock at Kinderton in Bermuda Run on April 12.

With nearly 200 in attendance, the women of Davie County and surrounding areas were treated to an inspiring event designed just for them.

“As always, WinMock at Kinderton provided a beautiful, warm and welcoming setting for this year’s luncheon,” said Caroline Moser, chamber member services director.

“The annual luncheon is a chamber favorite and we always look forward to creating an event for all women to enjoy, whether they own a company or are a stay at home mom. Our speakers are selected to educate, inspire and motivate us – personally and professionally.” said Carolyn McManamy, chamber President.

Featured guest speaker was Timogi Jackson, an empowerment specialist. She uses her voice as a speaker, educator, and life coach to enable people to harness and focus their energy and gifts to be truly successful in every area of life. She is the author of several books the latest which is her fourth, titled “Your Dream Needs A Team.”

“Timogi is a fantastic speaker. She delivers a very thought-provoking message in a fun, lighthearted way.   Everyone saw a little bit of themselves in her stories and thoroughly enjoyed learning what it means to be a lady and a woman,” said McManamy.

Each guest was given a copy of Timogi’s book, I’m “A Lady And A Woman,” compliments of the chamber and Jackson.

Women who were part of the program:  Gladys Scott, president of the Davie Business Women’s Association who briefly spoke about the organization; Tara Olson, with Mary Kay, who delivered an invocation; and Erin Doby of RayLen Vineyard, who gave a toast with mimosas made with RayLen’s newly-released Sparkling Brut.  Kathy Miller of OneShot Photography captured the moments on film.

“The support of event sponsors, Chamber Champions and volunteers is always greatly appreciated,” McManamy said. “We simply could not host an event like this without their help and commitment to the chamber: Elizabeth Barnard of DCCC, Cathy Boles of DBWA and Star H Equine Insurance, Carolyn Davis and Janet Shepard of DCCC – Small Business Center, Erin Doby, Carmen Price and Katie Rodgers of RayLen Vineyards & Winery, Katie Gough of Edward Jones – Eric Haughwout, Bette Hauser of DBWA, Farah Hubbard of Bates Income Tax, Kimberly Myers of The LINC Agency, Tara Olson of Mary Kay,  Cissy Reynolds of DBWA & 158 Auto Sales, Gladys Scott of DBWA and Michelle Younts of BB&T. Many thanks to Davie Business Women’s Association, RayLen Vineyard and Corners Coffee+Art+Framing+Wine for the wonderful door prizes we gave out on your behalf.

“Lastly, thank you to all our guests who join us each year for this special event.  We are truly blessed to know you and hope you enjoy yourselves as much as we do planning a special day for you.

“We look forward to seeing everyone next April at the 2018 Signature Women’s Luncheon. Thank you for your support,” she said.
